Inside our Ashburton B&B
After 10 years in the business of Bed & Breakfasts and Farmstay's, Valmai and Ken know that making their guests feel comfortable and at home is of the upmost importance.
A friendly, relaxed, homely atmosphere is the key, plus quality hospitality.
Lounge
Meeting people from all parts of New Zealand and the world comes easily to Valmai and Ken, who have had their own taste of visiting other countries and experiencing other lifestyles.
After farming in a neighbouring district for 30 years and a lifetime involved in the rural world, the move to a small semi-rural property on retirement has been a logical one.
Valmai & Ken
Valmai enjoys craft work of all kinds but specialises in wool crafts, mainly making wool felt. Slippers for all ages are fashioned from the felt, truly wonderfully warm. Other fields of enjoyment are gardening and cooking.
As a Lion at the local womens club, a lay preacher, volunteer work associated with their church, a Women's Institute member and family, life is fairly full.
Single Rooms
A grown-up family of four, plus eight grandchildren, keep Valmai and Ken occupied on the home front.
Ken has an outgoing personality and enjoys meeting people.
He has shown this in the comments of the guests over the past 10 years in the hospitality business.
Ken has been a member of Lions for 20 years.
