Farmers Big Day Out, April 22nd -aimed at giving farming folk the opportunity to see the latest in farming machinery put through it's paces, rather a mini Field day
Whats Been:
Fishing Contest in Rakaia during the last weekend in February. With the river being marginal on the Friday, saturday saw it clear, only to discolour on Sunday. However, good entries ensured it was a lively contest, with good yarns, fellowship and fishing. The winning salmon 9.65kg
Motor Home Bonanza: Feb 21,22 Show homes for buying or selling also equipment was of interest to the many interested in moble homes, with many people coming to see what's hot and what's not.
Cyclists Breakfast: Feb 26th The Road Safety Committee provided those cyclists on the way to work or school, hearty food on their way, and hopefully encouraged people out of cars onto bikes.
Barhill Heritage Fair: Sun 29th Feb: Over 4000people took a step back in time, visiting the past seeing vintage machinery, cars, cycles, a school complete with pupils in class,eating old type food,and enjoying watching sports and activities connected to days of a bygone era. |
